It will be useful to <br />categorize them and set priorities for further discussions. We have done so here and <br />present suggestions regarding whether or not existing regulation is adequate. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Definitions <br />The main topic is "temporary signage ". This covers a wide variety of signs. We can <br />categorize the different types as follows. <br />temporary sign <br />portable sign: a sign designed to be moved from one location to another <br />banner <br />miscellaneous sign such as cardboard signs on frames stuck in the ground or <br />attached to poles or other structures <br />other types: <br />construction sign <br />subdivision development sign <br />real estate sign <br />garage, yard sale sign <br />We suggest the following definitions: <br />temporary sign Any sign not permanently mounted or affixed to a building or to a <br />permanent sign. <br />portable sign A sign designed to be moved from one location to another. <br />banner A sign made of cloth, flexible plastic, or other fabric. <br />
