Planning & Zoning Board <br />June 13, 2001 <br />Page 26 <br />Mr. Lyden stated he did not see this as a pedestrian friendly plan and had no issues with the site <br />plan, other than the traffic and the specifics of the bank within the plan. Mr. Corson replied they <br />needed to make the determination as to how they were going to integrate it with The Village. <br />Mr. Rafferty reiterated his concern regarding having more trees within the development. He <br />asked staff what they would like to see. Mr. Wessel replied this was a commercial center and <br />heavy landscaping was not envisioned for it. <br />Mr. Rafferty again strongly recommended heavy landscaping, especially trees. He believed trees <br />could do a good job for masking the large parking lots. <br />Chair Schaps agreed with Mr. Rafferty with respect to green space in the parking lot. However, <br />he could live with a mixed concept. He also agreed it should be visually congruent with The <br />Village. Mr. Wessel replied staff was very aware of making this devel connect with The <br />Village. <br />Ms. Lane disagreed with Mr. Rafferty's suggestion about the l . dsc m • °'e stated if they did <br />a good job with landscaping along the outside businesses, t ' ` g o a. ould not need <br />excessive landscaping.
