•
DESIGN REVIEW BOARD MEETING
January 10, 1990
districts.
accessory building.
- 16 foot maximum height.
-- No metal or corrugated
siding or roof.
- Roof and exterior color and
material compatible with
home (except manufactured
tool shed).
The board members agreed with the proposed accessory building
amendment.
Monika Slatten stated that she has just under an acre and
that in her opinion the accessory building they have is big
enough, although they did landscaped around it. She felt
that this was a good change.
Mr. King thinks this is fair, and that it would be good to
allow residents a bigger shed if they had just under an acre.
John Bergeson tends to favor liberal limits on accessory
buildings. He stated that on the upside there is a
tendency to collect stuff and if there is a place to store
it, all the better.
Al Robinson agreed with Mr. Millers changes. He stated that
the previous ordinance with land over 54,450 sq. ft. a 12 x
20 building in that big of a parcel would get lost.
The board discussed accessory buildings for the older homes
with a detached garage.
The board decided that if a resident has 32,671 square feet
to 54,450 square feet, and are able to have a total of 960
square feet including an attached garage, if the garage size
was 24 x 26 the resident would still be able to construct a
336 square foot accessory building. The board felt this was
adequate.
MOTION: Mr. King moved to direct the city planner to draft
an ordinance amendment that would implement the accessory
building recommendations outlined in his memo of January 5,
1990. The amendment will go to the Design Review Board in
February for final approval.
OLD BUSINESS
Robert King asked about the amended zoning ordinance. John
Miller said he visited with Alan Irwin and that Laura is
making a clean copy of the old ordinance. Then the changes
will added and a new copy ran. The changes will be in
italics so that the board will be able to compare it with the
old ordinance. Then the revised copy will go before council
for approval. This will be completed by March lst.
Page 4
