Crohn
seconded the motion.
After further discussion it was noted this was a concept
plan only and will not go to City Council. The Planning and
Zoning Board will wait for Carlson's Preliminary Plat.
RECOMMENDATION FROM LINO LAKES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COMMITTEE TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTIES FOR COMMERCIAL AND
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT.
Several members of the Economic Development Committee were
present.
The purpose of the Economic Development Committee is to
advise the council members and the other city boards what
actions were necessary to build a commercial and industrial
base in the city.
The EDC members have studied Lino Lakes commercial and
industrial land needs and are recommending increasing the
size of areas zoned for these uses. They also recommended
the city should rezone the land now to avoid future conflict
with adjacent residential land uses. After the land is
rezoned, the City should work with owners in preparing
devlopment plans for each area.
The City Planner and City Engineer presented maps with the
EDC recommendations.
There was considerable discussion.
MOTION: Based on the recommendations from the Economic
Development Committee Prokop moved to recommend to the City
Council rezoning certain property that is attatched to the
application. Property involved would include the area
outlined in brown (on map) adjacent to 35E and County Road
14 would be rezoned for general business and rural to light
industrial.
PSP district adjacent to the Lino Lakes Rehab.
