Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
600 Town Center Parkway
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
(651) 982 -2440 Fax (651) 982 -2439
October 26, 2001
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Mike Hoffman, Park Supervisor
SUBJECT: October Maintenance Update
Sorry I missed you all at the September Park tour and BBQ. I hope you enjoyed the tour. I'm
sure you enjoyed the food.
Maintenance activities during October have included:
• Mowing of parks and athletic fields. We are in the process of completing our last full
mowing cycle. The grass is really slowing down now, and while we may have to mow a few
of our parks one more time, I think most of them have seen their last mower blade until
spring.
• Soccer and football fields maintenance activities have included painting lines, repairing nets,
and removing and storing goals on fields no longer in use.
• Lino Park warming house completed exterior painting.
• Fertilized athletic fields and irrigated park areas. (approximately 42 acres)
• Broadleaf weed control to south half of Marshan Park. (contracted)
• Irrigation blowouts and winterization. We currently maintain and blowout 12 systems. They
are: Town Center, Fire Station, Behm's Park, Marshan Park, Sunrise Park, Rice Lake Estates
Park, Birch Park, and Well houses number 2, 3, and 4. Rice Lake Elementary School and
Centennial Middle School are blown out by a contractor.
• Tree and brush trimming along trails.
• Playground inspection and repairs — Replace two vandalized slides at City Hall Park and a
• damaged Floating Stones Crossbar at Arena Acres Park.
