CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 19, 2000 <br />Staff advised a firm would be contracted to run a televising rig to run through the sewer <br />lines to detect problems. This process should be done every 5 -10 years. <br />Mayor Bergeson inquired about the upgrade of the Black Duck Lift Station. Staff advised <br />the lift station was not upgraded. The lift station will have to be moved or entirely redone <br />in the near future. <br />Council Member Carlson referred to the 2000 Park Board Goals relating to more land but <br />less money going into the Park Dedication Fund. She asked if this issue will be discussed <br />at a future Council work session. <br />Staff advised residents need to know now if parks are not going to be developed in the <br />near future. The issue will be discussed during the Finance work session. <br />Mayor Bergeson referred to the landscaping plan. He stated that the pumphouse on Birch <br />Street needs more landscaping. <br />Staff advised they will look into additional landscaping. <br />Mayor Bergeson inquired about the status of the new ble t" e City. Staff <br />advised they are approximately 3/4 done with the con � � � ,• s. ` � ' leachers should be <br />in place within the next two -(2) weeks. <br />Council Member O'Donnell stated th <br />commends the job of the Parks <br />Department. He asked about the s League games at Birch Park. <br />Staff advised Little Leagu <br />Games will be held on <br />ne•' to mainly have practices at Birch Park. <br />only. <br />CENTENNIAL S ` '> ` ISTRICT TASK FORCE UPDATE, MARK <br />LINDBLAD <br />Mr. Mark Lindblad advised he is present to give the Council an update regarding the final <br />action of the Centennial School District Task Force. He stated the following <br />recommendations will be made to the School Board. <br />1. An addition be made to the existing high school, which will house <br />an additional 300 students. <br />2. Creation of another elementary school. <br />3. Renovations for all the schools in the amount of $13 million <br />dollars. <br />Council Member Reinert requested an itemized list of what the projects entail. <br />2 <br />
