Program Highlights Continued
• ADULT
Fitness (Wellness) Programs: We are trying to be on top of the current fitness
trends. The several class offerings have been a staple with this department for a long
time. With the addition of a season pass, registration has increased. The pass allows participants to pick
and choose the classes they would like to attend. The yoga classes that were newly added this winter
have been a big hit with the participants. A new cardio kick boxing class will be added this spring.
Team Go -Rec Volleyball: Our volleyball program continues to improve. We have several returning teams
from past years. It is our hope to increase participation numbers in the future.
Open Volleyball: This program allows persons to participate in a volleyball program that does not demand a
steady commitment. This winter we are offering two separate programs: power volleyball for the more
skilled players and recreational volleyball for the up and coming volleyball players. Both programs are held
on Friday evenings. Attendance has been strong in both programs.
Adult Team Basketball: The season is winding down. With only a couple of weeks left in the season, teams
will be participating in a playoff. Due to the large number of teams that participate in this program, we are
unable to increase participation. At this point, gym space is a premuim and the youth programs also need
indoor space.
Open Basketball: Attendance in this program is the largest that it has been in some time. The move to
•ondaM
ys does not interfere with our Wednesday Basketball program.
Indoor Soccer: We are currently accepting registrations for this program. Last season, 18 teams
registered for- this program. I am optimistic that we can rise above that number this year. The total
number of teams that we can accommodate is 20.
Adult Softball: The registration period for returning teams is open. It is anticipated that all of our leagues
will fill up. We can accommodate 64 teams in five different leagues.
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
Warminghouse Shelters: We opened shelters on December 28, 1999 and closed for the season on
Monday, February 22. For- the third year in a row, the unusual temperatures played a major
factor in the number of days we were open and the attendance at the rinks. A complete
annual report will be at a future Park Board meeting.
The Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department is currently seeking individuals to fill a variety of
summer positions. For- more information about these positions, please call the Parks and Recreation
Department at 0051- 982 -2440.
The spring activities guide is currently being printed and will be mailed out the last week in February.
iruestions?? Please feel free to contact Liz Bur-sack or Barry Bernstein at 651- 982 -2440.
