•
•
•
City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
November 1, 1999
Chair Lindy asked that the developer keep the Park Board aware of
their progress.
EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT - LINO PARK SIGN:
Rick advised Eagle Scout candidate Gordy Sargaent recently
completed his Eagle Scout project (10/13/99). Gordy's project
consisted of re- designing the landscaping around the existing
Lino Park sign.
Work performed included the following:
* Removal of existing shrubs and perennials.
* Re- grading area around sign.
* Installation of a 2 tiered planting bed consisting of
landscape blocks.
* Installation of plant material consisting of shrubbery,
perennials, and annual flowers.
* Installation of landscape fabric.
* Installation of woodchip mulch.
The new planting bed is approximately 13' x 25' in size and is a
huge improvement over the previous landscaping.
Chair Lindy asked if the Park Board sends out a letter of
recognition relating to these projects. Rick advised he creates
a letter of recognition which is presented to them at a council
meeting. He indicated a letter from the Park Board is a good
idea also.
Chair Lindy advised he will develop a draft letter of
recognition.
EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT - WOODDUCK NESTLING BOXES:
Rick advised in August, 1999, Eagle Scout candidate Paul Nelson
completed his Eagle Scout project. Paul's project consisted of
cutting, assembling, and installing (11) wood duck nesting boxes.
The boxes were placed in the following locations:
* City Hall Park (2)
* New City Hall (4)
* Pheasant Hills Park (3)
* Shenandoah Park (2)
3
