•
•
City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
October 4, 1999
Rick referred to a concept plan of the complex noting it will
change.
Jeff Reinert made a motion, seconded by Pam Taschuk, to approve
the acquisition of property from Mr. Montain and Mr. Molitor for
the purpose of a future athletic complex. Motion carried
unanimously.
Paul Montain returned to the meeting.
Review Potential Park Area in Clearwater Creek Development Center
Rick advised that at the August, 1999, Park Board meeting, the
Park Board supported the 4.7 acre land acquisition in the
Clearwater Creek Development Center.
Rick stated he will be meeting with the developer whom is
assuming the City will negotiate and purchase the balance of the
property at market value. Rick noted that the park dedication
ordinance will be revised by the first of the year. The park
dedication at that time may be higher than the current
requirements. The developer will want the park dedication based
on the current ordinance.
Park Board members expressed concern regarding the price of the
property, indicating they are not comfortable with buying the
property at $40,000 per acre. Members also expressed concern
regarding location and the addition of the athletic complex if
approved.
Pat Huelman made a motion, seconded by Jeff Reinert, to approve
Rick to negotiate and discuss the price with the developer, using
his discretion, and to report back to the Park Board for
approval. Motion carried unanimously.
RECREATION DEPARTMENT UPDATE:
Rick referred to the Program Highlights Flyer from
August /September, 1999. He noted that the Options Program ended
on August 6, 1999. Many positive comments from families were
received about this program.
This year's Safety Camp, held on August 12, 1999, was the largest
to date with 110 children registered. A video is currently being
produced and will be presented to the Park Board upon completion.
• The Party Wagon was very popular this summer. It was reserved
nearly every weekend from June through September.
3
