• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 8, 1997 <br />Staff provided a handout for Council titled, "Possible Funding Sources ". The handout <br />outlines how the civic buildings could initially be funded. Staff noted that the total project <br />would cost approximately $7,000,000. <br />Discussion followed regarding how the project would be funded. Staff noted that bonds in <br />the approximately amount of $3,500,000 would be needed as well as funds from sources <br />other than tax payers dollars. Starting on January 1st, the Youth Resources Officer will be stationed at the new <br />Centennial Middle School on Elm Street. The Centennial District will pay the entire <br />unfunded portion of the Your Resources Officer's salary and benefits. A Blaine Police <br />Officer will provide services for the Centennial campus. <br />Minnesota Correctional Facility (Prison) - A disturbance occurred at the Prison last <br />week prompted several telephone calls from residents in that area. Chief Pecchia <br />explained that his department was not notified until all was secure at the prison.
