•
City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
August 2, 1999
Mr. Gary Nordness, Developer for the project, noted that
alterations to the plan be being made based on discussions with
the City Planner. He reviewed the site plan and indicated that
there will be 416 parking stalls when full development is
reached.
Mr. Nordness continued stating he has met with the Environmental
Board. The Board had a concern regarding the distance between
the high -water mark. He stated they are taking into
consideration a 200 foot buffer.
Mr. Nordness advised the trails are private but could be
considered for public use. An easement for the City will be
considered. The Church wants to do something for the City and
want to be good neighbors.
Barry asked about the proposed construction of the trails. Mr.
Nordness advised the grading for the project is intended to take
place early next spring. The trail is at this time proposed to
be 6' feet wide. The trail width is open to discussion. The
trails are shown as wood chips at this time.
• Barry asked if the Church plans to maintain the trail. Mr.
Nordness advised the City will be asked to maintain the trails.
Pam asked if the Church will help in the construction of the
trails if the City gets an easement. Mr. Nordness advised that
at this time the Church is looking at granting the City an
easement. It is a wood chip path. If Class 5 or asphalt is
required the trail will be the City's responsibility.
Jeff Reinert made a motion, seconded by Paul Montain, to pursue
the possibility of the City working with the Church to obtain a
trail easement. Motion carried unanimously.
LAMOTTE PARK SURVEY RESULTS:
Acting Chair Huelman reviewed the results from the 22 surveys
that were received from LaMotte park residents.
Barry pointed out that a play structure for age groups 3 -5 and 6-
12 is strongly desired. Forty -two surveys were sent out.
Approximately 50% were returned.
Acting Chair Huelman stated it appears the neighborhood is older
• that originally thought. He asked the Park Board to think how it
can potentially move forward with this during next years goal
setting session.
3
