• CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES <br />• <br />• <br />10/24/94 <br />Standards for Facility Design <br />Policy 3.2: <br />Policy 33: <br />Policy 3.4: <br />Policy 3.6 <br />Policy 3.7 <br />Policy 3.8 <br />Public Ditch <br />Policy 5.2 <br />Buffer zones of natural vegetation will be <br />maintained around ponds and wetlands to provide <br />habitat for wildlife. <br />Water level fluctuations in wetlands and ponds, <br />which have been classified as wildlife habitat areas, <br />will be controlled to prevent flooding of the habitat. <br />Prior to modifying wetlands or constructing storm <br />water facilities, existing habitat will be noted, <br />maintained and enhanced, or new habitat shall be <br />developed. <br />The City will not take special measures to maintain <br />water in ponds used for sediment removal. <br />Activities related to recreation, fish and wildlife <br />shall be consistent with the Anoka County Regional <br />Park objectives and the City's Comprehensive Park <br />Plan and Development Guide. <br />The wetland classification system established in this <br />plan shall dictate how wetlands will be managed <br />and maintained by the City. <br />System <br />The City encourages restoration of public ditches to <br />a natural condition whenever possible. <br />Ground Water <br />Policy 6.2: <br />Policy 6.3: <br />Recharge areas identified by Anoka County shall be <br />protected from adverse development and from <br />potential contamination. <br />When practical, a permanent volume of water <br />below the outlet or overflow will be provided in <br />ponds and wetlands to promote ground water <br />recharge. <br />Local Water Management Plan SEH NO: LINOL9402.00 <br />Users Manual <br />Page 8 <br />
