ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 26, 2005 <br />Chair O'Dea asked for clarification if the dashed lines were proposed <br />development. Bauman questioned if it was designated, so they would not put in <br />fields. <br />Asleson responded the proposed development was for playground equipment, but <br />no fields. If it did include fields, the plan would come back to the Board. <br />Grundhofer inquired if all the trees were removed from the site. Asleson noted <br />that not all the trees were gone. <br />Grundhofer questioned if the Board could request that they put in more trees. <br />Asleson answered the trail system was nice, and explained that portion of the <br />plan. <br />Grundhofer noted that the crab apple variety was non - bearing, but included <br />flowers. She asked for clarification if the islands in the parking lot were sodded, <br />and could they plant rain gardens in those areas. Asleson responded that rain <br />gardens could only be used in the depressional areas. <br />Bor made a motion to recommend approval including staff recommendations and <br />the recommendation of the Board: <br />• No importing or exporting of soils without City approval. <br />Bauman seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. NPDES Education/Dawn Dubats/RCWD <br />This item was tabled to a future meeting of the Board. <br />B. Stoneybrook <br />Asleson noted it took two weeks to remove debris left in the conservation <br />easement. They wanted to disk cut the seeds into the soil, and not till it. The City <br />was obtaining the appropriate slopes for the ponds. Some signage was missing. <br />In the spring, they would go to the county to GPS the areas. A homeowner <br />association representative wanted the site completed before the association <br />assumed responsibility for the site. <br />Chair O'Dea inquired if signs the same size as the posts were adequate. Asleson <br />responded that it did make them non - intrusive.
