All engines shall be turned off when fueling. <br />2. Employees shall not use flammable fuels for washing parts or for cleaning hands or clothing <br />except in a designated area under extreme caution. <br />3. All "No Smoking" signs shall be enforced. <br />4. Employees shall be familiar with all possible exits. <br />5. Employees shall be familiar with the location of fire extinguisher on their work sites. <br />6. Employees shall be given adequate instructions on the function and operation of each <br />extinguisher. <br />7. All extinguishers shall be checked periodically for possible discharge by qualified personnel. <br />8. All fire extinguishers shall be located where employees have easy access to them in <br />emergency cases. <br />9. Employees shall be familiar with the operation of fire alarm apparatus where it exists. <br />HOUSEKEEPING <br />1. Each employee is responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of his/her area. <br />2. All aisles, passageways, stairs, etc., within any and all buildings employed by the City of <br />Lino Lakes shall remain free from refuse, slippery substances, and misplaced equipment. <br />3. Employees shall report any burned out bulbs, dangerous floor surfaces, etc. to their <br />supervisor. <br />4. Any object undergoing long term work shall be stored in an area where it is least likely to <br />cause injury or restrict egress. <br />5. Flammables of any sort shall not be stored near welding operations, motor vehicles, or spark <br />producing operations. Flammable materials and liquids shall be stored in specially designed <br />safety containers and placed in a separate area. <br />6. Oily rags shall be disposed of in appropriate safety containers and shall be emptied at least <br />once a day. Lids shall be replaced on containers after each use. <br />7. Storage of materials shall be maintained in such a manner as to minimize dangers from fire, <br />blocked exits, or collapse. <br />8. Difference materials, which when combined could cause a fire hazard, shall not be stored in <br />the same area. <br />9. Combustible materials shall not be piled or stored within ten (10) feet of the exterior of a <br />building or structure. <br />10. Any evidence of rodent or insect harborage within or around the workplace shall be reported <br />to the supervisor immediately. <br />11. Whenever and wherever any employee notes potentially dangerous storage procedures, <br />he /she shall immediately report them to his/her supervisor. <br />4 <br />
