Eye and Face Protection <br />Any employee assigned to a task involving likelihood of eye or face injury shall wear <br />proper protection. This includes, but is not limited to the following: <br />a. Operations of grinders, <br />b. Changing mercury vapor lights, <br />c. Using air compressor <br />d. Using paint striper, <br />e. Digging holes involving concrete and asphalt, <br />f. Pounding open manhole cover seals, operation jackhammers, cutting with chisels, and <br />using power saws and lathes or any equipment involving danger of flying particles. <br />g. Welding operation, <br />h. Performing hand loading operations <br />i. Performing firearms training (Police Personnel) <br />j. Whenever splashed or sprays may generate droplets of infectious materials <br />The City will furnish OSHA approved safety frames and lenses for any employee that is required <br />to wear them. Employees that require prescription lenses shall pay the cost of the examination. <br />Each affected employee shall use equipment with filter lenses that have a shade number <br />appropriate for the work being performed for protection from injurious light radiation.
