OCT -28 -1998 11:27
CITY OF LINO LAKES
......,...
-• 46 .••6, ...v-
612 464 4565 P.02/05
r- •
Mattke Engineering, Inc.
Q
7671 Central Ave. N.E. • Fridley, MN 55432 • (612) 783 -0300
October 19, 1998
City of Lino Lakes
C/O Ms. Wyland
1 189 Main Street
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
re: WEST SHADOW PONDS -- Environmental Board comments
Dean- Ms. Wyland:
Regarding the Memorandum of 9/24/98 by Marty Asieson, I have the following comments:
1. As discussed in the Environmental Board meeting, we have been using native plants in
revegetating wetland and buffer areas in our past projects, and plan to do so here also. We are
looking forward to receiving specific recommendations on soil mixing.
2. We have used deed restrictions with regard to the wetlands and buffers on previous projects,
and will do so on this project also. We will be looking for your recommendations as to how to
share these restrictions with the City.
3. We do not believe it is practical to require individual lot builders or owners to follow soil
mixing practices unless it is incorporated in ordinance. When we receive the specific
recommendations, we will happily provide them to lot buyers.
4, We agree that the City should consider a soil preparation ordinance.
5. The oaks are located on the west side of the Colonial Woods subdivision, and the preliminary
grading plan has been designed to protect them. A tree preservation plan will be submitted with
the Final Grading Plan, protecting the trees.
Sincerely
Tedd W. Mattke, P.E.
• Residential & Commercial Deuelopment
EXHIBIT E
