There was
general support for the project, including the quality of the development, environmental concerns,
park and trail interests, and traffic circulation planning, however a single issue -- safety on 62nd
and on West Shadow Lake Drive (WSLD) -- was the dominant topic.
Michael Guthmueller, 642 Fox Road, asked about covenants and if he could see a copy, and RC
made a copy for him of Millers South Glen covenants (which should be similar.)
Thomas Drow, 6317 Red Maple Lane, was concerned about drainage at the intersection of the
proposed WSLD extension and 62nd Street, as it is presently a Low point of 62nd. I explained
that drainage from the north side of the intersection would be conveyed to the ponds and wetlands
north of the intersection, and 62nd would not be impacted.
Norma Mayhew, 678 Fox Road, and Amy Ziolkowski, 686 Fox Road, asked if they could
purchase some of Lot 1, Block 2 so they had pond access, and RC indicated that this was not
possible. Then they asked if they could plant trees along the edge of Lot 1, Block 2 for screening,
and RC said they could.
Stan Zarambo, 6250 Red Maple Lane asked if street lights were required on corner lots. We did
not know the answer, but indicated that we would check into it and let him know.
In addition to these questions, there was general discussion on the following topics:
1. Could the street lights in the project match the lights in Birchwood Acres, could concrete
driveways be required as they are along WSLD in Birchwood Acres, and will the covenants be
recorded and enforceable, and RC indicated that, with City approval, all of these could, and
would be done.
• Residential & Commercial Development EXHIBIT E -1
Hydrology • Water Resources • Municipal
