• <br />• <br />• <br />AGENDA ITEM 6D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jim Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 12, 2006 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 06 — 92, 2nd Avenue & Wildflower Drive Storm <br />Sewer Maintenance <br />Vote Required: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Over the past couple of years it was discovered that the storm sewer section at <br />the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Wildflower Drive was not functioning properly. <br />Prior attempts to correct this have been unsuccessful. Recent investigation into <br />the repair of this section revealed that the extent of the repair is far greater than <br />was expected. Ultimately, three options have become available. The <br />recommended and most economical one consists of cleaning and joint sealing <br />the pipe at an estimated cost of $19,184.00. <br />There are no funds budgeted or available for this extensive of a maintenance <br />project within the Public Services Budget. In the absence of any general fund <br />contingency, the only funding option available is the City's Surface Water <br />Management Fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Resolution Number 06 — 92 be adopted. <br />
