?Q� <br />MINUTES - JUNE 14, 1982 <br />Council Meeting <br />June 28, 1982 <br />Mrs. Elsenpeter corrected the minutes as follows; on page four under the WCCO permit, <br />delete the words "virtually no danger to health" and insert "no research to substanti- <br />ate health hazard ". Mrs. Elsenpeter so moved. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to approve the minutes as corrected. Seconded by Mr. Marier. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />DISBURSEMENTS - JUNE 24, 1982 <br />Mr. Marier questioned the repairs on two trailers - part in public works and part in <br />parks. This is a split in the cost since the trailers are used in both departments. <br />Mr. Reinert questioned the costs for the seminar conducted by Mr. Loren Law. The general <br />consensus of the Council was that the figure budgeted was smaller than the final figure. <br />After some discussion on this matter, Mr. Reinert moved to approve the disbursements, <br />holding the Check for Mr. Loren Law for clarification. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />No one appeared under this portion of the agenda. <br />HIRING OF A POLICE OFFICER <br />Mayor Benson noted that this Council had met earlier this evening and had interviewed <br />the potential Police Officer, Mr. Kevin Dean and Mr. Larry Thornhill. Mayor Benson <br />asked Chief Myhre for his recommendations. <br />Chief Myhre pointed out his reasons for recommendation of Mr. Larry Thornhill, noting <br />the experience and education of this person. He felt that he would be comfortable with <br />Mr. Thornhill on his staff. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the hiring of Mr. Larry Thornhill, starting employment <br />date to be July 19, 1982 with Mr. Thornhill to have a psychological examination. Seconded <br />by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Benson requested that a letter be sent to Mr. Dean, noting that the City had made <br />a choice and if he wished his application to remain on file, it will remain. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - CHARTER AMENDMENTS <br />These are amendments to the Charter that have been submitted by the Charter Commission <br />and must be submitted to the public by a Public Hearing. <br />Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to set a Public Hearing for the Charter Amendments for July 26, <br />1982 at 7:30 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Reinert. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD ACTIONS <br />Subdivision - Henriksen - Mr. Schumacher reported that the survey is here - the <br />subdivision was recommended for approval at the June 9, 1982 meeting, the park fees <br />have been paid in full, the drainage easement deeds have been presented. These are the <br />items that the Planning and Zoning had requested. <br />
