The general
consensus of the Council was that the figure budgeted was smaller than the final figure.
After some discussion on this matter, Mr. Reinert moved to approve the disbursements,
holding the Check for Mr. Loren Law for clarification. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion
carried unanimously.
OPEN MIKE
No one appeared under this portion of the agenda.
HIRING OF A POLICE OFFICER
Mayor Benson noted that this Council had met earlier this evening and had interviewed
the potential Police Officer, Mr. Kevin Dean and Mr. Larry Thornhill. He felt that he would be comfortable with
Mr. Thornhill on his staff.
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve the hiring of Mr. Larry Thornhill, starting employment
date to be July 19, 1982 with Mr. Thornhill to have a psychological examination. Seconded
by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Benson requested that a letter be sent to Mr. Dean, noting that the City had made
a choice and if he wished his application to remain on file, it will remain.
PUBLIC HEARING - CHARTER AMENDMENTS
These are amendments to the Charter that have been submitted by the Charter Commission
and must be submitted to the public by a Public Hearing.
Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to set a Public Hearing for the Charter Amendments for July 26,
1982 at 7:30 P.M.
