34 <br />May 9, 1983 <br />by the next Council meeting in order for the Council to take a look <br />at them. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to instruct Mr. Vogt to just do the first set of <br />plans and have them at the next Council meeting. Seconded by Mr. <br />Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />APPLICATION FOR TAX FORFEIT LANDS <br />Mayor Benson asked if these were the parcels along Black Duck Drive <br />and Mr. Schumacher said, Yes. Mr. Marier moved to approve this <br />application. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Continuation of the Public Hearing on the Zoning Map and the Zoning <br />Ordinance to be called to order on May 24, 1983 at 7:00 P.M. <br />League of Minnesota Cities Conference - Mr. Schumacher asked for the <br />number of persons who will be attending the conference so the reser- <br />vations may be made. At the presenttime, there will be three of the <br />Council members attending. <br />Mayor Benson asked about the Police Commission and Mr. Kulaszewicz had <br />no report at this time. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Consideration of an intern program - Mr. Schumacher pointed out this <br />City had been involved in this type of program previously. He is pro- <br />posing to use an intern from the City of Coon Rapids who is attending <br />St. Cloud State University. This will cost the City approximately <br />$350.00. Mr. Schumacher outlined some of the areas this intern will <br />be working. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve this request. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Formation of an Economic Development Committee - Mr. Marier reported_ <br />that it was felt the Planning and Zoning gets tied up in the day to <br />day business of the City and there should be somewhere persons who <br />are interested in relocating this City could go for information. Mr. <br />Marier suggested a Committee of approximately seven persons to include <br />persons for all facets of the Community. Mr. Harvey Karth is interested <br />in heading this Committee. <br />Mr. Marier moved to form an Economic Development Committee to be chaired <br />by Mr. Harvey Karth, with seven members to be chosen at his discretion, <br />and to come before the Council for approval. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. <br />Mr. Reinert questioned the naming of a chaiman of this committee at this <br />time. He felt the committee should be formed and the Chairman named <br />after the formation. There was some discussion on the matter of the <br />Chairman. <br />Mr. Reinert amended the motion to read 'that the person selected to <br />lead not be the Chairman, but rather act as a steering committee at this <br />time for form the committee'. The amendment died for lack of a second. <br />
