February 13, 1984 <br />173 <br />31. 1983 brought an intern from St. Cloud State University to work in <br />the City along with several MEED Workers, a Ommunity Service Officer, <br />and a new Police Officer. <br />32. The City met with Senator Boschwitz's Representative noting some key <br />areas and concerns of Lino Lakes. <br />33. Honored David Zerwas as Officer of the Year. <br />34. Purchased new 1983 dump truck, a 1983 one ton dump /snowplow truck, <br />road grader, tractor with mowers, office equipment, powered wheel <br />chair for the Senior Center and other equipment. <br />35. Continued a committment to inform Lino Lakes residents on issues <br />and progress. <br />in reviewing the above accomplishments and others not mentioned, it is <br />easy to conclude Lino Lakes has a very successful year. <br />1984 should prove to be another good year. The City will continue to: <br />1. Increase the surplus in our general operating fund. <br />2. Continue our road overlay program. <br />3. Establish a Police Commission and Task Force. <br />4. Finalize Fire District with Circle Pines /Centerville. <br />5. Continue working on the Lino Lakes Gas Utiltiy Franchise. <br />6. Establish bonding and financial policy for utilities. <br />7. Update Capital Improvment Plan. <br />8. Continue work on Rice Lake Estates utility proposal as well as <br />other related areas. <br />9. Finish the Senior Center and City Hall expansion. <br />10. Make every attempt to continue sound development in Lino Lakes. <br />11. Continue the Council's policy to invite agencies, Council, Board <br />and Representatives to visit with the City Council to improve <br />communications. <br />12. Continue to look into shared services with other cities, counties <br />and school districts. <br />13. Complete propane study. <br />14. Maintain a close watch on Lino Lakes financial future. <br />15. Continue our present programs in parks, Public Works, and <br />Administration. <br />16. Make a further attempt to automate the City offices for efficiency <br />and economy. <br />
