February 13, 1984
maintained in this account.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
177
that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby authorized the City
Clerk to transfer $1,599.98 from the 1982 Certificate of
Indebtedness to the Capital Improvement Project Fund - #401.
Passed by the City Council this 13th •- .f February, 1984.
4j amin . .4''': ; Mayor
/14„Auuh1
Edna L. Sarner, City Clerk
Motion carried unanimously.
ATTORNEY'S REPORT
Mr. Hawkins reported the fire Task Force met Thursday, February 2, 1984
and came to agreement on the areas that were discussed at the joint
meeting a few weeks ago. He has just completed the revised draft of
the Fire Agreement and hoped to have it to Mr. Schumacher this week and
out to all the Cities for their approval at their first meeting in
March.
Regarding the El Rehbein lawsuit, the motions that have been filed by
the City and the Plaintiff were argued in from of Judge Staley Thorpe
last Firdayafternoon. This case is presently under advisement and
when he has completed reviewing the nriefs that have been filed he will
issue his decission on all the motions.
Mayor Benson asked Mr. Hawkins for an update regarding the City's pre-
sent Fire Contract. Mr. Hawkins said it appears the City will be able
to come to an agreement on terminating that contract effective Jan.1,
1985. There will be a lot of work for the Task Force to do before the
new Fire Department will be operational. The planned date for the
combination of all Fire Departments is January 1, 1985. The budgeting,
training, the establishment of the Fire Fighter's Releif Assn..
acquisition of any new equipment will be part of the activity that the
Board will undertake once they are constituted and expect the Board
to be effective probably as soon as the agreements are adopted by all
parties. All the communities would have the responsibility of provid-
ing fire fighting services until January 1, 1985. There were several
members of the Task Force that wanted to get started earlier but once
they were informed of all the things, the peeparatory work to be done
before the department becomes functional, all were in agreement with
this date. The Task Force intends to get in writing from the Lexington
Fure Department the termination date agreement of January 1, 1985.
OPEN MIKE - BRUCE HANSON
Mr. Bruce Hanson of Surfside Seaplane Base and president of Minnesota
Seaplane Pilots, Assn. appeared before the Council to express his opp-
osition to the proposed Park Broadcasting Tower because it is a hazard
