1
1
1
May 29, 1984
CONSIDERATION OF CHARTER COMMISISON MEMBERS
235
There has been five names submitted for membership on the Charter
C ommission. Mr. Robert Rud, Mr. DAvid Storberg, Mrs. Jan Apitz, Mrs.
Jeanne Goldade and Mr. John Benson. Mayor Benson pointed out there are
four openings on that commission at the present time. He also noted that
Mrs. Apitzz and Mrs. Goldade now sit on the Police Task Force.
Mr. Marier moved to appoint, Mr. Storberg, Mr. Rud and Mr. Benson to the
Commission. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Mayor Benson pointed out this
commission only meets once a year and even though the other two persons
are on a task force, he would request one of them be appointed at this
time in order to fill the vacancies on the commission.
The motion to approve the three appointments carried unanimously.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to appoint Mrs. Jan Apitz to fill the remaining
vacancy' n the Charter Commission. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried
unanimously.
JOB DESCRIPTION AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE
It was pointed out this is for an accountant who would be taking care of
all the financial aspects of the City.
Mr. Reinert was concerned with the fact that the Council has not discussed
the changes taking place in the administrative offices and he felt that
he was not ready to make a decision on this matter until he had been able
to discuss this matter thoroughly.
Mr. Marier felt the ad for the position could be placed for this position
and a decision on the job description could be discussed before the
position is filled.
Mayor Benson felt he would like permission form this Council to place
the ad after the Ways and Means Committee has met and discussed this matter
with the City Administrator.
Mr. Reinert moved to approve this request. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz.
This is to be an agenda item for the June 11, 1984 Council meeting.
Motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC HEARING - WEBER SEWER PROJECT
Mayor Benson opened the public hearing on this matter at 8:07 P.M.
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to accept this as a public project and continue
this hearing for sixty day as required by the City Charter. Seconded by
Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried unanimously.
STATUS REPORT - MOLINE DISCUSSIONS
The Clerk noted the Council has a copy of the notes taken at the last
meeting and that Mr. SChumacher felt this was the last meeting for this
Task Force.
