Mr. <br />Hawkins pointed out that only the property owners proposes to be ass- <br />essed can petition. <br />Mayor Benson noted that if the property owners in the area who may be <br />interested in the sewer and water, want to participate in the project, <br />then they must petition the City to be included. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to close this hearing at 10:20 p.m. Seconded by <br />Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />243 <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to continue this Council meeting until 11:00 P.M. <br />Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried unanimously. <br />A ten - minute recess was called at this point in the meeting. The meet- <br />ing reconvened. <br />Park Board Report <br />The matter of the vacation of LaMotte Park was put before the Council. <br />Mr. Schumacher reported on the Attorney's research on this matter. The <br />Park Board is in favor of eliminating this Park. Mr. Hawkins reported <br />that the Park can be vacated but payment from the heirs of that land <br />cannot be asked to pay for this park. It was noted that the owners <br />may make a "donation" to the City, but the City cannot demand this <br />action. <br />Mayor Benson asked if this matter should not be referred to the Park <br />Board for a final decision. Mr. Schumacher said this has been dis- <br />cussed and this information had been presented at their last meeting. <br />Mr. Marier moved to send this matter back to the Park Board for their <br />recommendation. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unani- <br />mously. <br />SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to table this item. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />SQUAD CAR ROTATION PROPOSAL <br />Chief Myhre reviewed this proposal noting when the new cars will be <br />put on the streets and the anticipated mileage for those cars. <br />After some discussion on this matter, Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to approve <br />the rotation of the squad cars as proposed by Chief Myrhe. Seconded <br />by Mr. Bohjanen. Motion carried with Mr. Marier voting no. <br />Mayor Benson requested the two remaining items under Chief Myhre's re- <br />port to be tabled. Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to table consideration of <br />the Firearms Ordinance and Junk Car Ordinance. Seconded by Mr. Marier. <br />Motion carried Unanimously. <br />ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Mr. Hawkins had no further report at this time. <br />
