038
COUNCIL MEETING
October 22, 1984
Page Three
DISCUSSION OF BOW HUNTING RESOLUTION - CHAIN OF LAKES PARK RESERVE
Mayor Benson said the County Board has passed a Resolution author -
4 ing bow deer hunting in the Chain of Lakes Park. He noted that
tliet City did not receive a great deal of prior notice therefore the
City did not have any input into this situation.
Mr. Schumacher said there has been a lot of questions dealing with
bow hunting from area hunters. The staff is referring all calls
to the County Park Department since we have no information on this
situation. The County has assured the City they will be responsible
for security and will take care of all problems.
Mayor Benson said this could be a positive step in dealing with the
deer population in Lino Lakes and asked that the County give the
City a report on the effectiveness of the Resolution at the end of
this year.
CONSIDERATION OF SIGN ORDINANCE #09 -84, SECOND READING
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to adopt Ordinance 09 -84 and waive the reading.
Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Mr. Reinert asked Mr. Kluegel
if this Ordinance which is more restrictive will be burdensome or
cause a larger work load. Mr. Kluegel felt it simplified his work
in this area.
On the motion, motion declared passed.
ENGINEERS REPORT
City Hall Parking Lot -
The bids on completing the parking lot next to City Hall were opened
this morning. There were two bids; Bituminous Roadway, Inc. at
$32,931.20 and T. A. Schifsky and Sons, Inc. at $19,312.50. The
engineer's estimate was $17,800.00.
Mr. Davidson said the County has to do an Envirormental Assessment
Worksheet on the parking lot so any awarding of the bid will be
contingent on completion of this worksheet. It was noted that
community development block grant funds will cover the cost of
this project.
Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to award the bid to T. A. Schifsky and Sons,
Inc. for $19,312.50,contingent upon County approval. Mr. Bohjanen
seconded the motion.
