100 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />Page Ten January 28, 1985 <br />CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION #85 - 1, RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPA- <br />TION IN THE CONTROL DATA BUSINESS ADVISORS, INC., JOINT COMPARABLE <br />WORTH STUDY <br />Mr. Schumacher explained the state legislature has mandated that <br />all cities in the state prepare a comparable worth study in 1985. <br />He has been working with the Metro Area Managers Association and <br />Control Data to put together this study. This will meet the require- <br />ments set out by the legislature. The study is time - consuming <br />and costly. He explained what this study will accomplish. This <br />item is budgeted for 1985. <br />Mr. Marier asked what would happen if this Council turns down this <br />mandate. Mr. Schumacher said he would contact the Managers Assoc. <br />and tell them that Lino Lakes will not participate in the program. <br />The City has not spent any money on the program as of yet. <br />Mayor Benson asked what the legislature would do if Lino Lakes <br />does not do the study at -a11._ What is the_penalty2.._ <br />The Council had several questions - about- how_the study was mandated, <br />the cost, and what it will accomplish. Mayor Benson suggested. <br />the legislature look -at this mandate again and suggested the State <br />do the study. <br />Mayor Benson said he will talk to Senator Dahl on Thursday about <br />this issue. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to table Resolution #85 01 until the next Council <br />meeting to give. the Mayor-a chance to discuss this with Senato -r - <br />Dahl:- Mr.--Marier seconded the-motion. Motion passed unanimousl -y; -- <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPOINTING JOSEPH HUSS AS DEPUTY CLERK FOR SIGNATORY <br />PURPOSES <br />Mr.Ibinert moved to appoint Mr. Huss Deputy Clerk for signatory <br />purposes. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion passed unani- <br />mously. <br />ATTORNEY'S - REPORT <br />Mr. Hawkins explained the Council had discussed this litigation <br />at 6:45 P.M. this evening. It concerns Northdale Construction and <br />their suit against this City, Glenn Rehbein Excavating and Milner <br />Carley Engineering and Metropolitan Waste Control Commission regard- <br />ing connection of facilities in the Shenandoah I plat. All parties <br />have met and have agreed that if the other three defendents pay <br />$1,000 each and the City of Lino Lakes pay $750, the case would <br />be settled. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
