Mr. Schumacher read the res- <br />olution and noted he has met with Mayor Dahl of Circle Pines to prepare <br />this resolution. It is deliberately worded in general terms to allow the <br />commission to expand its membership to a size to be determined by the loca <br />governing bodies. The next step is to meet with Circle Pines and deter- <br />mine who should be on the commission, etc. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to adopt Resolution #85 -02. Mr. Marier seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 85 - 02 <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AMENDMENT OF MINNESOTA STATUTES TO ALLOW FOR THE <br />EXPANSION OF THE CIRCLE PINES UTILITIES COMMISSION. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Circle Pines has established a Utilities <br />Commission to govern the operation of it's gas, water, and sewer utilities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Utilities Commission provides gas service to a <br />portion of the City of Lino Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Circle Pines wishes to provide proportion- <br />ate representation to the citizens of Lino Lakes on its Utilities Comm- <br />ission; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 412.341 limits membership on a <br />Utilities Commission to three members; then <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lino Lakes <br />hereby supports legislation amending M.S. 412.341 to allow the Circle <br />Pines Utilities Commission to expand its membership to a size to be det- <br />ermined by the local governing bodies; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Senators Novak and Dahl, and <br />Representatives Voss and Quinn be requested to work toward passage of <br />such legislation during the current session of the Legislature. <br />Adopted this Eleventh day of Feb <br />5. <br />Marilyn G.
