The prob
lem was the Board's proposal to amend the Comprehensive Plan
and this would cost between $4000 and $6000 with planners fees
included. This will put them well over. their budget. He also
noted the Economic Committee plans to come in and propose some
tax increment projects and setting up a tax increment district.
The City cannot do both; update of the Comprehensive Plan
and address the economic development issues. He would like
some direction from the Council to deal with the proposal from
the Planning Commission to update the Comprehensive Plan.
Mayor Benson suggested an initial meeting with the Economic
Development Committee, Planner, a member of the Planning and
Zoning Board, a council member and Mr. Schumacher to decide
the direction their combined effort should go.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to set up this meeting before any other ac-
tion is taken. People are asking him if any of Lino
Lakes portion of the gas monies are being used to finance the
new City Hall.
Mr. Schumacher said this would be a good question to ask our
auditors. Technically the only way we can do any research is
to go to Circle Pines approved audit which may not be completed.
This can be brought up when we meet with the auditors.
025
