A sample Council resolution has been
included in the Council packet. This is the type of resolution
that may be required but no action is required at this time.
Mr. Marier did not feel this action was necessary or needed. He
had talked to a former postal employee and he thought that as it
is set up right now if you are in the 55038 zip code area that
is the east side of Lino Lakes. He felt the way the zip codes
were set up you would know exactly where people live.
Mayor Benson said the input he has heard is that the people are
interested in looking into this. It would help improve their
identity as being a part of Lino Lakes. He asked that more infor-
mation be acquired such as the information from Representative Si-
korski and more input from the community.
Mr. Reinert commented that Lino Lakes has the greatest potential
in the future when compared to Circle Pines, Lexington, etc. and
the zip code would have the tendency to give identity to this
City.
Mr. Kelling from the audience explained how mail should be delivered
by zip code.
Mr. Bisel agreed that Lino Lakes does have an identity problem
and felt there could be more signs posted at the entry of the
City
Mr. Bohjanen suggested that if there is a problem getting proper
mail delivery you can address your envelope John Doe, Lino Lakes,
Hugo, MN 55038.
Mayor Benson said that the Council has the responsibility to col-
lect all the facts and information regarding this situation before
it is evaluated any further.
CONSIDERATION OF A STREET LIGHT PETITION - 4TH AVENUE AND SHERWOOD
LANE
Mr. Volk, Public Works Director, has received a petition to install
a street light at 4th Avenue and Sherwood Lane. He has recommended
approval since it would fit into the budget and light a potentially
dangerous intersection. Mr. Marier moved to approve the installa-
tion of this street light. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Mo-
tion carried unanimously.
Mr. Schumacher saidthe engineer has discussed what the City options
are as to where an elevated water storage tank should be located.
093
