COUNCIL MEETING
September 9, 1985
Page Eight
He asked for some directions regarding selling the City owned lots
on Black Duck Drive. Should we re- advertise all the lots or re-
serve lot #2 next to the well house.
Mayor Benson said since this was not an agenda item and the en-
gineer was not prepared to comment the Council would not deal with
it tonight. Mr. Schumacher said there is an active interest in
the lots and he would like this resolved yet this year. Mayor Ben-
son asked him to prepare a recommendation for the next Council
Meeting. This recommendation should include the engineers recom-
mendation on lot #2 next to the well house.
ADMINISTRATORS REPORT
Mr. Schumacher told the Council the computer hardware is here and
will be located in the Senior Center until the remodeling is com-
pleted. We will start with payroll, proceed to word processing
and then sewer billings and financial reports.
The remodeling has started. Two local area semi - retired carpenters
are performing the preliminary work. He is working with the prison
on the construction of the demountable walls.
Mr. Schumacher, Mr. Marier and Mr. Bohjanen met with officials at
the Correctional Facility along with Circle Pines Representative.
The major issue of this meeting was the price of the gas that Cir-
cle Pines was charging them. The Correctional Officials wanted to
see if 1) the price of gas from Circle Pines could be reduced, 2)
explore an option of obtaining gas from North Central since North
Central has offered their gas at a lower rate but would not commit
on how long the lower rates would remain in effect or 3) explore
using wood chips for fuel. Circle Pines is now compiling data to
determine what effect it would have on the Lino Lakes gas system
if we too offered a lower rate. This information will be ready by
September 12, 1985. Mr. Schumacher will update the Council on this
matter. The Correctional Facility would like an answer from this
Council by the end of the month.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Set Meeting for Budget Work Session - The draft of the budget
will be out to the Council by Monday, September 16, 1985. A ten-
tative date of September 23, 1985 of 5:30 P.M. was set.
B. Joint Council Meeting With the City of Shoreview - The Shoreview
City Council will meet at the Lino Lakes City Hall September 30, 1985
at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Benson asked that an agenda be sent out in ad-
vance of the meeting.
1
1
1
