,90
Council Meeting
January 24, 1983
Mr. Johnson said there are several ways to handle this problem; 1) one is to issue
permits to go in and shoot the deer which is not a very popular way; 2) Blaine has
been opened up for deer hunting with some severe restrictions but it seems to
be working.
Mr. Reinert asked if an area could be identified in Lino Lakes where there is a large
deer population. Mr. Johnson explained how this had been handled in Forest Lake
Township.
Mr. Reinert felt that some sort of a survey of the residents of the area should be
done in order to advise the people of what's happening.
Mr. Reinert moved to have Mr. Johnson work with the Police Department and bring
something back for Council consideration. Mr. Johnson will provide a copy of the
Blaine Ordinance. Mr. Reinert also requested that some identification of the area
be worked out. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously.
CIVIL DEFENSE REPORT - CHARLES CAPE
Mr. Cape gave a brief report on the activities of the Civil Defense for the past
year, pointing out the meetings that had been attended by himself and other members
of the Civil Defense.
Mr. Cape then presented a request to the Council for the use of the 6x6 for the
installation of communications system on that truck. There is no cost for the
communications system - it will be obtained from the Army.
There was a question as to the use of this vehicle at the present time and Mr. Cape
felt that it was used basically to pull vehicle out of trouble. There was a
question on the planned use for a watering truck with Mr. Cape replying that
he had been told this use had been discontinued.
Mr. Marier moved to approve this request. Seconded by Mr. Reinert. Motion carried
unanimous ly
Mayor Benson asked haw many members there are in the Civil Defense and Mr. Cape said
there are only 4 active members at the present but he will be doing some recruiting.
RESOLUTION 83 -4 - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE USE OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE
CITY OF LINO LAKES - 1983.
WHEREAS, Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended,
provides for a program of Community Development Block Grant Funds, and
WHEREAS, with the assistance from the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County has
qualified as an Urban County designee, and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant funds received by the City of
Lino Lakes in 1981 and 1982 have been allocated for the construction
of a Senior Citizen's Center, and
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has been notified by Anoka County that Community
Development Block Grant Funds have been allocated for the City's use in
19 83.
1
1
1
