1
Council Meeting
January 24, 1983
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the Lino Lakes City Council hereby allocates Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)
of its entitled 1983 Community Development Block Grant Funds for the Alexandria
House and related programs.
The balance of such 1983 entitled funds shall be designated for the construction
of the proposed Senior Citizen's Center.
Adopted by the City Council this 24th day of January, 1983.
This use of these funds had been approved at the last Council meeting. This
Resolution reflects those actions.
Mr. Reinert moved to waive the reading of the Resolution and to approve the
Resolution. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion carried unanimously.
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD ACTION
Mr. Stafki had applied for a variance to Ord. 85 for a lot split in the Lexington
Park Lakeview area. Mayor Benson noted that Mr. Stafki called to say he would be
late but Mayor Benson suggested that they hear this and if there are questions,
it can be held until later.
29.
Mr. Kluegel presented the actions of the Planning and Zoning Board in that they
had recommended approval of this lot split. It would leave two lots of approximately
1/3 acre. This lot is located on the corner of Gladstone and Sunrise. This type of
split has been allowed in this area.
Mayor Benson asked if this was recommended for approval because of the fact that this
had been presented before the moratorium? would it be treated the same if it had been
a new request? Mr. Kluegel said this had been considered.
Mr. Hawkins said the Comp Plan calls for a one acre lot - this allows a 1/3 acre -
how could this then be denied to someone else. Mr. Hawkins felt the moratorium had
been adopted to allow time for the updating of the ordinances and the zoning map.
Mayor Benson felt that maybe the Planning and Zoning had not had an opportunity to
cover some of these thoughts and perhaps this should be sent back to the Planning
and Zoning with Mr. Hawkins' thoughts on this split.
Mr. Marier moved to return this request to the Planning and Zoning with Mr. Hawkins'
thoughts on this split. Seconded by Mrs. Elsenpeter.
Mrs. Elsenpeter suggested that perhaps the Ordinance under which the former splits
were allowed should also be forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Board. Mr. Kluegel
said this would be Ord. 21A.
Mr. Reinert asked why Mr. Kluegel felt this lot of 1/3 acre would be a buildable lot
and Mr. Kluegel said there has been a favorable perk test on the land.
Mayor Benson pointed out that, if sewer should come into that area, then the lot would
qualify as a buildable lot.
The motion carried unanimously.
