Council Minutes <br />May 27, 1980 <br />under the Engineer report at the meeting and the Clerk is to notify all <br />owners. <br />Mr. Carley presented a progress report on the status of the installation of <br />the utilities on Black Duck Drive. He pointed out the portion that is com- <br />Ieted. <br />Mr. Carley presented their finding on the study on the need for additional <br />water supply in that area. It was felt a special meetings should be set to <br />consider this. This meeting was scheduled for June 16, 1980 at 7:30 P.M. <br />The matter of the East Birch Addition was briefly discussed. Mr. Locher will <br />speak on the later. <br />The Planning and Zoning Board Report was considered. The first item on the <br />agenda was a variance for the transfer of a 5' parcel of land by Mr. Kock. <br />This is to maintain the side yard setbacks for the addition to his garage. <br />Mr. Schumacher presented the information and informed the Council that all <br />materials required are present. Planning and Zoning had recommended approval <br />of this variance. Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to approve this variance. Seconded <br />by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried unanimously. <br />000105 <br />The long driveway variance for Mr. Schultz in Sunset Oaks and is necessitated <br />by a drainage easement that goes across the front of the Lot. Mr. Schumacher <br />presented the actions of the Planning and Zoning. They had recommended approval <br />Mr. McLean moved to approve this driveway variance, with the stipulation that <br />this driveway be maintained by the property owners tot the extent that it can <br />be used by emergency vehicles. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski: Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />The next item was a request by Mr. Richard Carlson to take two lots now facing <br />Hodgson Road, split them and face both lots onto Linda Street. Planning and <br />Zoning had recommended approval. Mr. McLean moved to approve tnis request. <br />Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Schumacher presented the request for the platting of Sunset Oaks 11. Mr. <br />Short had been asked to review this plat and the Council persons had a copy of <br />his recommendations. Mr. Short recommended thi$ parcel remain as Light Indust- <br />rial. The Planning and Zoning Board had recommended to the Council this <br />platting be denied. <br />Mr. Jaworski disagrees with this concept. He felt the residential development <br />to the West of this area dictated that this not be held back for Industrial. <br />Mayor Gourley asked Mr. Stanley to present his reasons for desiring to plat <br />this area as residential. <br />Mr. Stanley felt the Industrial development in this area is too far in the <br />future. He felt it is directly connected to the existing residential area via <br />Marvy Street. He felt there is other lands in the City more suitable for <br />Industrial zoning. <br />There was discussion of the possibility of sewer in that area. Mr. Marvy felt <br />that this would not affect development for industrial purposes. This area has <br />also been platted so as to allow the splitting of the lots in the event sewers <br />are intalled in this area. <br />
