000106
Council Minutes
May 27, 1980
There was a question of the transportation problem industrial development
could create in this area. It was also noted that the developers are entit-
led to a public hearing on this plat.
Mr. Jaworski moved to set a public hearing for the Sunset Oaks 11 plat for
June 23, 1980 at 8:00 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion carried
unanimously.
The driveway variance requested by Mr. Robert Gray was discussed. This is
necessitated by a Water Works easement on the front of his property. All the
necessary papers are in order. Planning and Zoning had recommended approval
of this variance. This driveway will 330' long. Mr. Kluegel has inspected
this property and found the front part of the lot quite low. Mr. Gray was
informed that the maintenance of the driveway is his responsibility and must
be kept in a condition to admit emergency vehicles. Mr. Kulaszewicz moved
to approve with the above stipulations. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion
carried.unanimously.
The special use permit application by Mr. Emly was considered. This is to
have a repair shop at his residence on 62nd street just off Ware Road. Mr.
Schumacher presented the actions of the Planning and Zoning Board. This is
being used to repair farm equipment on a part time basis. Mr. Emly has a
building that he is currently using - the only construction proposed is a cK.
stockade type fence for screening purposes. There is to be no sign. The
Planning and Zoning Board had recommended approval of this request.
There was discussion on the missing information that should have been pre-
sented with this request. Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to table this matter until
the end of the meeting since Mr. Emly was not present. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski;. Motion carried unanimously.
The Scheunemann's Corners plat was considered next. Mr. Scheunemann had been
requested to overlay the splitting of the lots when sewer is installed and to
note the location of the streets that would be installed at that time. This
layout was presented and discussed. There was discusssion of the street end-
ing in a cul -de -sac. It was generally felt this street should not end in a cul-
de -sac but should be extended to the property line in order for the lands to
the East not to become landlocked. Also, the lands to the South.
After some discussion on this matter, Mr. Scheuemann agreed to realigning the
lots. Mr. McLean moved to set the public hearing on Scheunemann's Corners
plat for June 23, 1980 at 8:30 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Kulaszewicz. Motion
carried unanimously.
Mr. Emly had arrived so his request for a special use permit was considered.
Mr. Emly pointed out the buildings on the drawing and locating the building
proposed to be used for the repair shop.
There will be some welding but no painting in this area. This is for his
special costumers for heavy equipment. The status of 62nd. street was quest-
ioned will this handle this type of traffic. -This is strictly a part -time
business.
The general feeling was this use does not fall under the home occupations and
it was suggested that perhaps this should be rezoned, perhaps to General
Business.
