012 <br />COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 9, 1987 <br />CONSIDERATION OF GAMBLING LICENSE RENEWAL FOR THE LINO LAKES LIONS <br />CLUB AND CIRCLE - LEX VFW #6583, LADIES AUXILIARY <br />The Council did not have an objection to renewal of these licenses and <br />no further action was required. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Rav Hauer Request for Sewer Service, Ash Street - Ron Stahlberg - Mr. <br />Stahlberg noted that the Joint Powers Agreement has been completed and <br />approved by the City of Shoreview. Mr. Hauer has been anxious to be <br />connected to Shoreview services and now says a number of his neighbors <br />would like to do the same. Mr. Stahlberg will prepare a petition for <br />them to sign requesting the services and agreeing to pay the costs. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained these Lino Lakes residents will also have to <br />sign a waiver of future assessments. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />League of Minnesota Cities Legislative Action conference - The <br />conference is scheduled tomorrow and anyone who wishes to attend can <br />register at the door. <br />Mayor Benson noted that the League of Minnesota Cities Annual <br />Conference is scheduled for June 9th through the 12th. He would like <br />to look at the possibility of some staff specifically department heads <br />attending portions of this conference dealing with their area of <br />responsibility. <br />Lantern Lane Area Flooding Problem - Mr. Stahlberg will follow up on <br />the matter to see that the situation is being corrected. <br />Chamber of Commerce - Mayor Benson noted that during a tour of the <br />City conducted by the Chamber, some Chamber members have been <br />embarrassed by the junk around area businesses. Mayor Benson noted <br />that the Chamber should encourage their members to upgrade their <br />appearance. Mr. Bisel noted that maybe other organizations in Lino <br />Lakes could become involved with this issue. <br />Roland Ford - Mr. Kluegel noted that Mr. Ford has again violated the <br />Junk Ordinance and said the matter is in litigation. <br />Mr. Marier moved to adjourn at 9:17 P.M.
