Anderson, Clerk- Treasurer <br />REQUEST FROM RICE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT TO CLEAN JUDICIAL DITCH #2 <br />(HARDWOOD CREEK) - RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Mr. Schumacher explained he has received information from RCWD that <br />Hardwood Creek needs to be cleaned and Lino Lakes portion of the cost <br />will be $3,500. There are two options to consider; 1) Lino Lakes <br />clean the portion of ditch within Lino Lakes and request reimbursement <br />for RCWD or, 2) Lino Lakes decline to clean the ditch and then RCWD <br />will do the cleaning. This City must respond within thirty days to <br />the communication. Mr. Schumacher was asked if the was an ulterior <br />motive for the cleaning of this creek such as a future outlet for Lake <br />Oneka. Mr. Schumacher said RCWD has said that this was not a <br />consideration. The total cost of cleaning Hardwood Creek will be <br />$21,000. The City of Hugo and the RCWD will pay for the balance of <br />the project. <br />Mr. Reinert asked if this project had been a part of RCWD long range <br />plan and if so was this item moved up on their priority list. Mr. <br />Schumacher said that their projects are probably done on a squeaky <br />wheel basis. Mr. Reinert asked if squeaky wheel could be translated to <br />political pressure? <br />Mr. Reinert moved to decline to do Lino Lakes portion of the project. <br />Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Status of City Assessor's Position -- Mr. Schumacher explained that the <br />number one candidate, Mr. Anderson accepted the position and then <br />decided to decline. Mr. Johnson has accepted the position. Since he <br />lives in Cambridge he has agreed to have a watts telephone line <br />installed at his residence. <br />Animal Control Contract - Mr. Bohjanen moved to notify Knollton <br />Kennels that they must get their insurance and contract on line by the <br />PAGE 14 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
