Anderson, Clerk - Treasurer
ATTORNEY'S REPORT - BILL HAWKINS
JUNE 22, 1987
Beer Permit Request - St. Joseph's Catholic Church - Mrs. Anderson
noted that an insurance certificate has been received. Mr. Reinert
moved to approve the request for a beer permit for St. Joseph's August
Festival. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
Liquor License Renewals - Mr. Hawkins explained that all applications
for liquor license renewals have been received. Insurance
Certificates and Bonds have also been received for all license holders
with the exception of Frankies -on- the -Lake. He recommended approval of
all the renewal applications except Frankies. Mr. Marier moved to
approve renewal of liquor and beer licenses for 49 Club, Chomonix Golf
Club, J & K Liquors, Tom Thumb Stores, Lee's of Lino Lakes and the V.
F. W. Club. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
Mr. Hawkins explained that the State Statutes requires that all state
taxes be paid prior to the renewal of any licenses and the City Code
requires that all property taxes be paid before any liquor licenses be
approved or renewed. Since Frankies has outstanding taxes and has not
submitted a current certificate of insurance or a bond, Mr. Hawkins
recommended that their licenses not be renewed. Mr. Marier moved to
deny liquor application renewals for Frankies -on- the -Lake because they
have not complied with the insurance and bond requirements and because
of delinquent taxes due to different governing bodies. Mr. Bisel
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Hawkins noted that this establishment will have to be closed at
12:00 midnight, June 30, 1987.
DISCUSSION AND CONFIRMATION OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Mr. Schumacher told the Council that this committee has now had
several meetings which have been basically organizational in nature.
He has provided a list of potential members for this committee and
explained that all of them have been attending the meetings with the
exception of Mr. Uhde who had a conflict for one of the meetings.
Mayor Benson noted that Mr. Karth was on Mr. Schumacher's list of
members. Mr. Schumacher explained that Mr. Karth had originally said
he was not available to serve on this committee, however the committee
felt they needed someone who was an ex- official of the City for his
expertise and requested that Mr. Karth be contacted again. He agreed
PAGE 9
