167 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JULY 13, 1987 <br />Iith Lake Animal Care in light of facts, and explained that <br />he contract does provide a 30 -day cancellation clause. <br />Mr. Reinert and Mr. Marier expressed concern with regard to the <br />way Lake Animal Care has conducted the service in the past, parti- <br />curaly their apparent lack of courtesy and professionalism. <br />MOTION: Mr. Marier moved to enter into a contract with Lake <br />Animal Care for animal control services with the stipulation that <br />the City Administrator cover in depth with the service, the expected <br />character of Lake Animal Control's employees in dealing with pick- <br />ing up animals. Lake Animal Control is to be reminded that some <br />pets are like members of the family and should be treated accord- <br />ingly. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion which carried unanimously. <br />REPLACEMENT FOR HERB JOHNSON, CABLE REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that Mr. Johnson has resigned as Cable Repre- <br />sentative for Lino Lakes. He recommended that Mr. Tesch, who has been <br />serving as an alternate be appointed to serve as Cable Representative <br />for the City and that the City advertise for an alternate. <br />MOTION: Mr.Marier moved to appoint Mr. Tesch to replace Mr. <br />Ilohnson as Cable Representative for Lino Lakes and the City adver- <br />ise for an alternate. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion which <br />arried unanimously. <br />HANSON BLOCK COMPANY -- PUBLIC HEARING <br />Mr. Reinert opened the public hearing for Hanson Block's request <br />for a rezone and conditional use permit to construct a concrete <br />block manufacturing company with exterior storage at 8:05 F.M. <br />Mr. Kluegel and Mr. Donald Obernnolte (representative for Hanson <br />Block Company) gave an overview of the proposed project as <br />follows: <br />Plan will cover seven lots in Lino Industrial Park presently <br />zoned Light Industrial; rezone would be to General Industrial. <br />Permits required of MNDOT have been acquired. Rice Creek <br />Watershed District has reviewed the plan and provided their <br />recommendations. <br />Planning & Zoning Board unanimously recommended approval of <br />rezone and conditional use permit (per Mr. Obernolte), but <br />P & Z Board and applicant are not in agreement with regard <br />to the screening issue on the Site and Building Plan. <br />Plant (including future garage) will cover approximately <br />17,000 square feet. <br />AGE 5 <br />
