- 023
COUNCIL MEETING
September 22, 1986
Page Seven
,500 cubic yards of sand fill onto a lot at 6491 LaMotte Drive to
epare the lot for construction of a new house without obtaining
mining permit. This material was hauled in this spring and there
was damage to the street. Mr. Nelson has repaired the street to Mr.
Volk's satisfaction and has requested approval of a conditional use
permit for the sand fill. The City Engineer has reviewed the site
and has prepared his recommendations.
Patrick McKasy - 6933 LaMotte Drive told the Council that this is
the last buildable lot on the street and was concerned that a house
was going to be built that did not fit into the neighborhood. He
was also concerned that run off from this lot would damage his prop-
erty. He submitted a picture of the lot to the Council as well as
a petition stating the neighbors' opposition to the conditional use
permit.
Mike Mastro - 1553 LaMotte Drive indicated several aspects of the
situation that concerned him. Mr. Mastro felt the street was not
repaired satisfactorily and the lot was built up 10 - 15 feet above
the surrounding property, therefore the house would be much higher
than the surrounding houses. HP asked if there was a code restrict-
ing new construction so that it would fit into the neighborhood. Mr.
Kluegel described the proposed new house and said there is such a
Iode and he will see that the new house fits the neighbrohood.
ayor Benson asked if elevations and a contour plan have been presented.
Mr. Klbegelsaid yes and the engineers letter indicated some items for
Mr. Nelson to complete such as soil erosion control.
After further discussion, Mr._Marier. moved to direct the City.Engineer
and the Public Works Director to view the area and report back to the
Council and to continue the public hearing to October 13, 1986 at
-8;00 P.M. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unani-
mously.
Mayor Benson asked that the neighbors questions and concerns be fun-
neled to the City Engineer or Public Works Director.
The Council took a 10 minute recess at 8:50 P.M.
PUBLIC HEARING - AMENDED CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - PAUL WOLTERS (A -WELL)
PETE KLUEGEL)
Mayor Benson opened the public hearing at 8:58 P.M. Mr. Kluegel explained
Mr. Wolters.is requesting - an-amended conditional use permit for construc-
tion of an addition to his storage building and an addition to his of-
111 ice building. Mayor Benson asked if Mr. Wolters has fulfilled his re-
uirements for the current conditional use permit. Mr. Kluegel said
es. Mr. Bohjanen asked if there was enough parking areas. Mr. Wolters
aid yes and the new construction will not take any of the parking area.
Mr. Schumacher asked if all the screening and landscaping have been com-
pleted. Mr. Kluegel said yes.
