1
1
1
COUNCIL MEETING
January 26, 1987
Mr. Kluegel said he has been working with a contractor who is in
the process of building a new house on Ash Street and wants to
connect to the Shoreview services. The contractor said he would
be ready to hook up March 15th. Mr. Stahlberg recommended that
Lino Lakes attempt to negotiate the joint powers agreement with
Shoreview to service this area and purse getting the interceptor
to this area from Shoreview.
Mr. Marier moved to instruct Mr. Schumacher to purse a joint powers
agreement with Shoreview and bring the matter back to the Council
at the next meeting. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion car-
ried unanimously.
Mark Hurd Contour Maps - Engineer Will Provide Prices and Recom-
mendations - Mr. Stahlberg explained that Mark Hurd has flown the
City and has prepared photos of it for Anoka County. It is there-
fore most cost effective to have him prepare contour maps which
will be used for sewer and water system studies. A sample of
what the maps would look like was displayed on the Council wall.
Mr. Stahlberg presented a colored map on the overhead projector
indicating four different areas to be mapped and the costs for
each area. The cost would be approximately $1750.00 to $2250.00 per
half section and if the entire area were completed the cost would
be more than $60,000.00. He explained that each colored area rep-
resented a specific project and some of the mapping costs could be
billed to these projects except for the blue area which would have
to be included in the 1988 budget. In addition the City would sell
these maps to various developers, thereby recouping some more of
the costs.
Mr. Marier asked Mr. Stahlberg to put his proposal in writing in-
cluding total costs of each area and the method of financing.
Mr. Marier moved to extend the meeting until 10:20 P.M. Mr. Boh-
janen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Status of 80th Street - Mr. Stahlberg noted that the County has the
street construction plan as well as the bridge construction plan
so that it can be bid as one project under the supervision of the
County. A joint powers agreement will be needed for this project.
There had been some right -of -way problems but all are solved except
for one. This concerns the Carlson property where a culvert was
placed under 80th Street and water runs north into their fields
creating washouts. Mr. Volk has met with Mrs. Carlson and feels
an agreement can be reached if the culvert is moved to the west
property line running north to Hardwood Creek. Mr. Volk said he
would like to try and negotiate with the County to dig this ditch.
105
