012 <br />COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 14, 1987 <br />Mr. Reinert moved to draft a resolution and start with legal action <br />and in the interim Mr. Marier and Mr. Bisel will try to resolve the <br />matter with Mr. Montain. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF THE SENIOR TRANSPORTATION JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the major concern of senior citizens is <br />transportation. A quad cities joint powers agreement has been drafted <br />to provide senior transporation for Lino Lakes, Centerville, Circle <br />Pines and Lexington. Mr. Hawkins has reviewed this agreement and has <br />provided some comments for the Council to consider. Presently the <br />County is funding the transportation for the senior program and the <br />cities are now being asked to assume this funding. <br />Mr. Marier moved to have the questions raised in Mr. Hawkins letter <br />answered and also get some information from the County regarding why <br />they could not continue the program. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Benson asked what per cent of the <br />program would the County continue to fund and also asked what will the <br />ridership be. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - OUTLOT J REZONE <br />Mayor Benson opened the public hearing at 8:40 P.M. Mr. Kluegel <br />explained that the owner of this property is requesting that the lot <br />be administratively rezoned from R -1 to Neighborhood Business. It is <br />a three and one half acre parcel that had been zoned commercial until <br />the City initiated a City wide rezone in 1983. This property was to <br />have remained commercial but was inadvertly rezoned. The Neighborhood <br />Business uses were outlined for the Council. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 19 - 87. <br />Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion.
