Anderson, Clerk - Treasurer <br />Ben j grfnin G Benson, Mayor <br />Housing Standards - Mr. Miller explained that he was told by the <br />Council to make some recommendations with regard to increasing housing <br />standards for this City and to make recommendations with regard to <br />creation of an executive housing district and executive housing <br />standards. He noted that the Council now has his recommendations wi <br />the exception of a map showing possible locations for the executive <br />housing district. <br />Mr. Miller is proposing that the housing standards be upgraded by <br />widening lot sizes and increasing house sizes. He is also <br />recommending that the back yard sizes be reduced. The larger lot <br />sizes would be needed to accomodate the larger houses. A double car <br />garage is also proposed as a requirement. Other suggestions include <br />increasing the floor square footage in duplexes from 800 square feet <br />to 1050 square feet. <br />Mr. Miller explained that he has distributed about a dozen maps to the <br />Council, Planning and Zoning Board and other staff and have requested <br />their input as to the possible locations of the executive housing <br />districts. Only four of the maps have been returned. Mayor Benson <br />suggested that a tour of the City be planned for the first or second <br />week in January for the Council, Planning and Zoning Board, Park <br />Board, Staff and any other interested individuals to look at possible <br />sites as well as problem areas of the City. <br />Mr. Bohjanen expressed concern regarding where zoning lines were <br />actually placed. He referred to his property. <br />Mr. Reinert expressed concern about the timeline to get these <br />standards as well as the new zoning plan in place. He would like thi <br />PAGE 6 <br />
