A
session was held in late 1986 and carried through 1987 in
which we took a long hard look at where we are, and where we
want to be in the future. We realized the time was now to
evaluate this data.
The Council session was followed by a similar session held
by our Economic Development Committee (EDC). 1987 saw a
reorganization, and a revitalization of committment by the
Economic Development Committee to this community's future.
The EDC has been meeting on a regular basis in an effort to
pull together information, and compile it into a working
Development Guide. This Guide is being produced in order to
market the City. Along with city staff, the EDC is working
on a series of maps to go along with this Development Guide.
The EDC's philosophy is not to build for development's sake,
but to develop for the communities needs.
