Due in part to this work, the department was <br />recognized by the National Child Safety Council for "Service <br />to the Safety of Children ". <br />Finally the Police Department developed the "Lino Lakes <br />Police Department - Handout ". This handout described the <br />services offered by the Police Department and was given to <br />new residents. <br />In October of 1987, the Centennial Fire District Commission <br />had it's grand opening for Fire Station # 2 located at 7731 <br />Lake Drive. This fire hall is designed to be a first <br />response station for the majority of Lino Lake residents. <br />Ambulance services also continue to be provided out of this <br />fire hall. Numerous changes were made in the building this <br />past year which will allow for a more functional <br />fire /emergency service system. December 15th marked the <br />1st anniversary of emergency medical service in our <br />community. With the addition of this mobile, advanced life <br />support program, response time to emergency situations in <br />our area has been cut in half. <br />The Fire District Commission's Planning Committee is in the <br />process of determining the needs of the district as far as <br />facilities and future equipment needs. <br />As in years past, 1987 was a year full of projects for the <br />public works department.
