033 <br />COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 25, 1988 <br />Mr. Hawkins did not have a report. <br />CONSIDERATION OF ENTERING INTO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />AND ANOKA COUNTY FOR ANNUAL ASSESSMENT SERVICES <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the Council has authorized him <br />to proceed with entering into an agreement with Anoka County <br />for providing assessment services for 1988 through 1989. He <br />said he feels that Anoka County will do an excellent job for <br />Lino Lakes and Mr. Leone, County Assessor would like to <br />re- evaluate the entire City within a two month period. He <br />would first do a quartile study and then proceed with a <br />schedule based on the study. The Council had questions <br />regarding where the County would start first and after <br />further discussion Mr. Schumacher was asked to update the <br />Council when a work schedule was determined. <br />Mr. Bisel noted that the contract is for six years and asked <br />what the penalty would be if this City decided to <br />discontinue County service. Mr. Schumacher explained the <br />only requirement is a one year's notice. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to approve Anoka County Assessors service as <br />stated in Mr.•Schumacher's letter of April 20, 1988 for 1988 <br />through 1994. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to amend the motion to include that once <br />the quartile study is completed, Mr. Schumacher bring this <br />back to the Council to review with the County and answer any <br />further questions the Council may have. Mr. Bisel seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Voting on the original motion, motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF A REQUEST FROM CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT <br />CONCERNING USED LINO LAKES POLICE CAR <br />The Centennial Fire District has sent a letter dated April <br />8, 1988 to the Council requesting that the Council donate or <br />sell to the Fire District one of the squad cars now being <br />taken out of service. The District will pay $1,200 for the <br />equipment on the car. Mr. Schumacher has prepared a letter <br />to the Fire District about this matter and the letter <br />indicated the cost of the vehicle as $2,500 plus the cost of <br />the equipment. After discussion regarding the potential use <br />of the vehicle, how the District will pay for the vehicle <br />and who determined the price of the vehicle, Mr. Reinert <br />moved to consider this request and have the answer to the <br />PAGE 13 <br />
