Mr. Miller said it is
just a way to identify the area or territory and is a
question of taste. He also thought markers are currently
"trendy" and noted that there will be markers for Woodridge
Estates.
Mr. Uhde felt this issue could be resolved and should not
hold up the final plat.
John Mooney, 6750 East Shadow Lake Drive expressed concern
regarding the amount of traffic that will come from this
development. Gregg Kopeschke of Westwood Planning explained
that there would be additional traffic but he did not feel
the increase would adversely affect the area. Mr. Mooney
said the added traffic would aggravate the current problems.
He said the traffic is already moving too fast and he wanted
the Council to be aware of this situation.
Jane Brown, 6897 Black Duck Drive asked the Council to look
closely at whether there is a need to erect street lights in
this plat. She noted that presently you can see the northern
lights and liked the current situation. She felt street
lights were need for only high crime areas. Mr. Uhde
explained that the lights planned for this area are not the
typical street lights. They will be an amenity for the area
and will be placed on street corners only.
Peter Brown, 6897 Black Duck Drive said his concern was
traffic. He noted that the traffic is very fast on this
street and expressed concern for the children in the area.
He asked if this street should be posted for a lower speed
limit. Mayor Benson explained the policy regarding posting
City streets and noted that if a survey is conducted, streets
could end up being posted for a higher speed limit than what
there currently are. Mr. Brown suggested that a stop sign or
two be installed to break the traffic flow.
David Senum, 6773 Black Duck Drive told the Council that
traffic in the area is already going to fast. He felt it is
now dangerous.
Mr. Schaps asked what is planned for Outlot A and the
association bylaws. Mr. Uhde said presently it will be just
open space with possibly a volley ball court but nothing is
concrete yet. The bylaws are being drafted and will be filed
with the City and with the plat at the court house. Mr. Uhde
asked if the area residents would object to a landscaped
monument entrance to this development. The consensus was
that would distinguish the new area from the older area. Mr.
Brown said that all the homes in the area are nice homes. He
realized that entrance monuments are trendy and said maybe
this needs more study.
Mr. Schaps said he has heard that the streets will be cobble
