He also noted that the larger the
improvement the smaller the individual costs.
Mr. Schneider explained that a committee has been looking at
several alternative routes for the Chomonix Trunk Sewer. He
noted that he expects plans for this improvement to be
completed by the end of the year so that construction could
start early in 1991. Mr. Schneider also noted that if any
land owner is interested in connecting to the Chomonix Trunk
Sewer, they should let him know as soon as possible.
Council Member Bohjanen moved to close the public hearing at
9:50 P.M. There are two (2) Department of
Natural Resources (DNR) protected wetlands on the parcel.
Because of the wetlands, the setbacks that are required
include setbacks from shorelines. Cedar Lake is a natural
environment (NE) shoreland management classification and has
a 200 foot setback from the ordinary high water (OHW) mark.
If the 200 foot setback is met, there is the possibility of
detrimental effects to another state protected wetland. A
variance is required to allow the applicant to build to
within 150 feet of the ordinary high water mark and within 40
feet of the bluffline of Cedar Lake.
The DRB has recommended approval of the request. Council
Member Bohjanen moved to approve DRB application No. 90 - 43.
Council Member Reinert seconded the motion. On a roll call
vote, motion carried unanimously.
PAGE 10
1
