1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 20. 1990 <br />approval for the bond issues needed for these improvements. He <br />noted that this says something in support of good education in <br />this area. Mayor Bisel expressed his appreciation for the <br />support Lino Lakes citizens gave the the bond issues. <br />Mr. McClellan said that bonds will be sold on January 16, 1991 to <br />finance the above referenced buildings and improvements. He <br />noted that the interest rates were significantly better than <br />anticipated. <br />Mr. Schumacher asked Mr. McClellan if the School District would <br />be using a project manager. Mr. McClellan said maybe when <br />building the arena but not for other projects. <br />Mayor Bisel told Mr. McClellan that equity funding must be a <br />priority in the coming legislative session. Mr. McClellan noted <br />that Senator Dahl had been elected Chairman of the committee <br />responding to this need and he believed that Senator Dahl would <br />make every effort to support the needs of the Centennial School <br />District. Mr. McClellan explained that there is a lobby group <br />that will be placed into action concerning this matter. Mayor <br />Bisel asked citizens to contact their legislator's about this <br />matter. <br />Council Member Neal asked if there is any possibility of re- <br />arranging school district boundaries within Lino Lakes. Mr. <br />McClellan said not as far as Forest Lake is concerned. He did <br />note that there may be some changes affecting the Spring Lake <br />Park School District. <br />Mayor Bisel opened the public hearing concerning the rezone <br />request at 7:28 P.M. There was no one in the audience to speak <br />for or against the rezone request. <br />Council Member Bohjanen moved to close the public hearing at 7:28 <br />P.M. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Council Member Reinert noted that the Lehmann buildings will <br />remain in the ownership of Harold Lehmann with approximately 2.6 <br />acres of land. Mr. McClellan explained that it may be necessary <br />to request a variance to divide the remaining property. He also <br />noted that the old barn will be removed. <br />Council Member Bohjanen moved to approve DRB Application No. 90- <br />60 granting a minor subdivision for Centennial School District <br />No. 12. Council Member Kuether seconded the motion. On a roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />Council Member Reinert moved to approve the first reading of <br />PAGE 5 <br />
