239 <br />COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 11, 1991 <br />On a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, TO TAKE PUBLIC COMMENT ON THE USE OF THE <br />1991/1992 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, RESOLUTION NO. <br />12 - 91 <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that Lino Lakes receives a portion of <br />the Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) received by <br />Anoka County. This year the tentative amount is $26,567.00 and <br />this must be spent to benefit low and moderate income residents. <br />The purpose of the public hearing is to take citizen comments as <br />to where this money should be spend. In the past, this money has <br />been used to support Alexandria House, the Lino Lakes Senior <br />Center and to help implement the Section 18 - 19 flood plain <br />plan. <br />Mayor Bisel opened the public hearing at 7:19 P.M. and explained <br />how the public hearing would be conducted. There was no one in <br />the audience to speak on this matter. Council Member Bohjanen <br />moved to close the public hearing at 7:20 P.M. Council Member <br />Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council Member Bohjanen moved to approve Resolution No. 12 - 91 <br />dispersing the 1991/1992 CDBG funds as Mr. Schumacher outlined in <br />his "green sheet" dated February 6, 1991. Council Member Kuether <br />asked how the amounts to be disbursed to the various organization <br />was determined. Mr. Schumacher explained it was based upon the <br />impact of the information received from each organization. Mr. <br />Schumacher was questioned as to why some organization requests <br />were cut when others were not. Mr. Schumacher explained his <br />recommendations. <br />There was a suggestion that $800.00 of the amount suggested to be <br />given to RISE, Inc. be allocated to Alexandria House. Council <br />Member Bohjanen noted that RISE does raise funds from other <br />service organizations and Council Member Reinert noted the <br />success of the Alexandria program. <br />On a roll call vote, motion passed with Council Member Neal <br />abstaining and Council Member Kuether voting no. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, VACATION OF FOX ROAD, COLONIAL WOODS SUBDIVISION <br />Mr. Miller explained that Fox Road is a platted street in the <br />Colonial Woods subdivision. The intent was to extend Fox Road to <br />the north at the time the property at the north was platted for <br />residential use. The property to the north (Reshanau Lake <br />Estates South, 4th and 5th Additions) is currently in the <br />platting process.
