245
COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 11, 1991
Centerville lift station. Since the last proposal, Mr. Boxrud
has been in contact with the Metro Waste Control Commission
(MWCC) and they determined that it is not in the best interest to
serve these areas through the Centerville lift station. Mr.
Boxrud outlined his latest proposal that would allow for
Brandywood Estates, the Centennial School property and Pheasant
Hills Preserve to be serve by the Black Duck lift station to the
west. This proposal is similar to the original proposal. It
will require that the Black Duck lift station be upgraded in
about three (3) years. This proposal is now feasible because the
Reshanau Lake trunk sewer improvement is planned and progressing.
Mr. Boxrud explained that a question about the operation of the
Black Duck lift station had been raised at the previous Council
meeting. He has checked with the Public Works Director and the
problem is not one of capacity but of mechanics. This problem
should be corrected by now.
Mr. Boxrud said he feels that this will be a viable project and
the cost should be approximately the same as the proposed
Centerville lift station project. He noted to keep on schedule,
the Council would have to consider ordering plans and
specifications soon.
There was discussion regarding financing for Pheasant Hills
Preserve. Mr. Miller explained that the central builder for this
improvement had backed out, however, the developer felt another
builder was interested. Mr. Boxrud noted that this latest
proposal is dependent upon the School District agreeing to having
all of their land which is serviceable by a gravity sewer
assessed for trunk sewer charges. Mr. Boxrud recommended that
the Council approve Option No. 2 on his "green sheet" because
this will allow Brandywood Estates to develop at this time. If
financing is completed for Pheasant Hills Preserve, they can be
added to the project at any time.
Council Member Bohjanen moved to approve Option No. 2 and
Resolution No. 15 - 91. Council Member Neal seconded the motion.
On a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
Resolution No. 15 - 91 can be found at the end of these minutes.
CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE NO. 03 - 91 ADJUSTING
COMPENSATION FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS
Council Member Reinert moved to table this item. Council Member
Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
FIRST READING, ORDINANCE NO. 01 - 91 REDUCING THE MEMBERSHIP OF
PAGE 9
1
1
1
